Henn na Hotel Premier Sendai Kokubuncho

​I recently had the pleasure of staying at this modern and chic hotel in the heart of Sendai, Japan, and it was fantastic. From the moment I arrived, the experience was unique and delightful.​The check-in process was a highlight—I absolutely loved the virtual character check-in! It was fast, futuristic, and a fun way to start the stay. Despite the high-tech welcome, the human staff were incredibly hospitable and attentive throughout my visit, ensuring everything ran smoothly.​My standard room was wonderfully spacious, especially for a Japanese hotel, and featured truly modern decor that felt fresh and calming. The location is excellent, putting all the best of Sendai within easy reach. The amazing amenities—from the luxurious bath products to the quiet, efficient air conditioning—added an extra layer of comfort.​I would enthusiastically stay at this hotel again without hesitation. My only regret is not booking one of the specialty rooms! Next time, I will definitely opt for one of the character rooms for an even more memorable stay. Highly recommended!

​The on-site laundry was a letdown. The machines took a staggering four hours to complete just two cycles (wash and dry), and the high cost of nearly $16 USD (2400 ¥) for those two small loads felt excessive given the slow performance.

Really good location close to shops and restaurants. Rooms size is ok and the clothing steam device is really handy! Checkin and checkout were smooth, luggage lockers available for free at the reception. I had to speak to staff only once and they were really helpful!

Bathroom smelled a bit musty but was overall pretty clean.

Had difficulty with the virtual checkin. Possibly due to the japanese English translation but the staff arrived on 30 seconds when we asked for assistance Breakfast was very basic.

Easy and fun check in. Great location.

Extra bed in room is very hard and uncomfortable. Regular beds are very comfortable though.

The dinosaur theme room is pretty cool. My little one didn't want to leave. There are some gifts for the kid as well.

The robot check in process is very loud and has too many steps. Very pricy coin laundry (800y!).

The room was dark.

Neat little gimmick where the reception is done via hologram. Very spacious and confortable room. There are also designer rooms that might be a nice experience for kids.

A bit pricey since it comes with a lot of additional stuff I don't make use of.

Modern premises, clean and functional.Very good location in downtown Sendai.

Classical Henn na experience,Smooth check-in, except when the "process" does not go the way it is suppose to (bug), that is the limit of such concept.Funny, but I think I will definitely not renew in the future, I guees we need humans to talk to humans :).

Location was great.

It is clean, amenities are good.

The check in procedures are very bad, and extremely inhumane. It is a perfect example about how technology doing stupid thjngs.We booked 3 rooms. And we need to type in our information ourselves 3 times. We ask the staff for help. If it is a usual hotel checkin counter, surely can handle our checkin proccedures in a minute. But this Tech-savvy checkin portal requires ourselves type/scan pay 1 room by 1 room spends us 25 to 30 minutes, and we as guests feel ashamed to ourselves as we make the queue very long so other guests need to wait us check in or check out. The whole experience is really bad, un welcomed and unnecessary.

Loved the virtual check in and origami in the foyer. The room was small but fantastic. Would easily stay here again.

The room is clean enough and it's a comfortable place to stay for a night. Even though we didn't have any human encounter checking in, I like the self service luggage storage facility which I hope more hotels implement it.

It's kind of cramp if you use the sofa bed like we did

Very minor comments maybe… There is only two washing machines, which were always busy. Lacking diversity of breakfast options.

Easy walk from train station. Good location, close to everything shopping, eating. Loople bus stop close.

Central location, walkable to many food places and subway stations. Self check-in was easy and fuss free.
